My name is Devin Schulte, I am a senior BS Marine Biology student with a minor in chemistry and business. I am interested in exploring scientific diving and studying Marine Ecology with the Dr. Brent Hugues lab at Sonoma State University. This is an amazing experience getting knowledge on current marine issues and ways we are using different tools and scientific studies/practices to combat climate change and monitor the ongoing situation. I am looking to go into a masters and pursue research in the field of Marine Ecology. I am studying and working towards replenishing the kelp forests along the Northern California coast with masters students who are also certified research divers leading projects. My job is to assist them in their journey by being a dive buddy as well as a trained, young diver who can collect data or set up experiments. I enjoy every bit of what I do and I cannot wait to get underwater again!
